Bedford

Like all sites, the the Bedford Elementary After School Program offers students a chance to improve their grades and have fun with friends! Students who enroll in the program get daily snacks, support from certified staff, help with homework, and the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of fun learning activities. 

The program runs from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday throughout the school year, with most activities in the elementary cafeteria.

I am a 4th grade teacher at Bedford Elementary.  I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.  Tyler graduated from BHS in 2019 and is self employed as a farmer.  Hannah graduated from BHS in 2020 and will start her sophomore year at Pitt, Greensburg in the nursing program.  Laney will be a sophomore at BHS and Thaddeus is going into 8th grade this year. 

I love being spending time with my kids, being outside, crafting, and the beach.

I am a 1992 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and a 1996 graduate of Shippensburg University.  I graduated from Shippensburg with a dual certificate in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  In 2007 I received my Master’s in curriculum and instruction from Gannon University. Upon graduation, I started working in Bedford County as a home visitor with ALSM Head Start.  From there, I moved to working at a center-based Head Start Program in Allegheny County, MD. 

I started as a site coordinator with the After School Program in the Northern Bedford County school district and moved to Hyndman to continue in the role of site coordinator.  I was hired by the Bedford Area School District as a member of their teaching staff and have been t3eaching 4th grade for 16 years.  I started back as the coordinator three years ago at Bedford Elementary and have thoroughly enjoyed running the program for the last 3 years.

Jennifer is joined in the program by tutors Heather Eberhart, Amy Arnold, Rachel Morningstar, Molly Marting an AmericCorp volunteer and instructional assistants Carrier Murphy, Alaina McMullen and Mary Dibert.
